The KBWA provides an important voice for a Kentucky industry committed to delivering a wide variety of fresh, safe and consistent beer products enjoyed by adult consumers in bars, restaurants and on store shelves across the commonwealth.

We do that by promoting the proven regulatory system governing the production, distribution and sale of alcoholic beverages — a system that benefits everyone and has allowed our state’s alcoholic beverage industry to thrive for nearly a century.

Kentucky’s “three-tier” or “competitive/license” model, which stipulates specific roles for brewers, distributors and retailers, provides important checks and balances to maintain consumer safety and access to a broad array of excellent beer products. This system also ensures proper payment of taxes of hundreds of millions of dollars annually to support our state and our local communities.

Our independent member distributors are proud to play a vital role in the ongoing success of Kentucky’s beer industry. So next time you open a cold, refreshing beer, please offer a little bit of thanks to the hard-working men and women of Kentucky’s middle tier who helped put that beer in your hand.
