The Kentucky Malt Beverage Education Corporation (MBEC) was created in 1998 to help educate teens on the dangers of underage consumption of alcohol. MBEC provides a vehicle for the Commonwealth of Kentucky to match individual private contributions with state funds to support educational efforts to address underage drinking in Kentucky. Since its inception, more than $2.3 million has been raised for this important effort which provides helpful information for parents to communicate with their children as well facts and figures about teen drinking in Kentucky.
Below, you will find information ranging from statistics on teen drinking, to advice for parents communicating with their children on the dangers of underage drinking. We hope you find these resources useful and impactful in your child’s life.
Our partners play a key role in providing adequate funding in order to donate to so many schools. Additionally, each year, we receive a matching donation from the Cabinet of Health and Family Services. Without their help, none of this would be possible.
